Loopfront marketplace for users with buyer/seller-role

How does listing and ordering on the marketplace work for buyer/seller-users in Loopfront?

Loopfront works as an internal marketplace for employees, making it easy to choose reuse instead of buying new. Employees can quickly create listings with automatically suggested data on furniture, fixtures or equipment, that they no longer need themselves, which can be ordered by others in the company. Loopfront also provides automatic live reporting on how much the company saves in costs, waste and CO2.

In the Norwegian version of this article you can see a quick video (in Norwegian) demonstrating how the marketplace works for you.

User roles for employees and logging in

The company administrator sets the user role for employees in your Loopfront-system, whether you are invited manually by the administrator, or the employees sign in themself via SSO (if set up by the administrator). These user roles can either be:

  • Buyer / seller - User can see and search for products in the marketplace, place orders and create listings
  • Buyer - User can see and search for products in the marketplace, as well as place orders
  • Observer - User can only see and search for products in the marketplace

If you need access to a feature - contact the admin in your organization

If you have been invited by an administrator, you will get an email invitation, which you accept to get access to the platform. You then create a password to use for logging in with your email address at https://loopfront.app/

If your administrator has set up SSO (single sign-on) for your company, you can log in directly ar https://loopfront.app/ with your company-email by clicking on the "continue with google"-button.

Create a listing on the marketplace

Listings can be created both on mobile and on desktop, however mobile is recommended for registration and taking photos of the product(s) directly with your mobile device.

To create a listing on the marketplace, click on the "Create listing"-button in the top right corner of the marketplace. A quick guide for creating listings will appear. Click through the steps to learn more, and check the checkbox in the end of the guide if you don't want to see the guide again the next time you create a listing.

The first step of creating a listing is adding a photo!

1. Take or upload a photo - Click on "click to browse" and you will get the option to either upload an existing photo on your device or take a new one directly by giving access to the camera.

2. Click on "continue" when you have uploaded the photo(s) you want to add to your listing. You can remove a photo by clicking on the trash-can-button, and mark which image you want to be on the front of the listing by clicking on the green star-button.

3. Loopfront will search for matches to your uploaded photo - If there are any similar products already registered in your organizations system, you will get suggestions for matches. If there are no matches in your system yet, you will go directly to the product registration in step 5.

4. If matches are found - you can swipe to see all suggested matches. If you find the exact same product you are going to list, click on it to get autofilled information added to your listing and skip to step 6 in this guide. If none of the suggestions match, click on "skip matches".

Tip: If you get a rather similar match to the product you want to list, but there are some variations (such as colour) you can also click on this similar match to autofill information about your listing. Make sure that you edit the correct information and create a new product - and don't update the existing product with wrong information . See more information about registering similar products here

Some fields in the product registration form are required and some are optional. The more relevant information you add, the better the listing you will create, and it will be more likely to be ordered.

f) Optional: Add an estimation of weight per unit in kg - This information serves as a basis for calculated savings in waste when the product is registered as reused

g) Optional: Add a description of the product (if relevant)

h) Optional: Add an estimation for the retail value per unit in NOK - this would be the cost of purchasing a new product instead of reusing -  This information serves as a basis for calculated  purchase savings, when the product is registered as reused.

i) Optional: Add a carbon footprint estimate per unit - either manually (if available) or chose "automatic" where the CO2 footprint will be based on the average of EPDs for your chosen category (and the weight applied). This information serves as a basis for the calculated climate savings, when the product is registered as reused.

j) Optional: Add more fields (if relevant) - click to add more info about your product, such as sound reduction, fire properties, secondary colour, ease of disassembly, requirement of documentation, verified by, diameter and thickness.
